Happy Wednesday

My dad was a photography enthusiast at a point. For whatever reason he bought a heavy SLR when his friends were buying compact cameras years ago before the hype of digital cameras hit the market. I think he got this before I was born. Work and life in general reduced the use of the camera and now even holiday photos are taken by the compact point & shoot. I have lots of free time and I am seriously interested in learning photography. I will be experimenting with my dad's SLR.. I don't have a scanner so I won't post anything even if the end result turns out good enough. I hope to learn. Give me any tips you can.

He also has a 52mm lens to go with it. I have taken pictures with this before. But it was always too heavy for me and I often ended up taking headless photos because of my height!! I didn't feeel it this time when I took a few photos today at 7 am.
Have you ever gone up to your roof so early on a crisp morning and seen the orange sun? It was beautiful and the wind was just crisp and chilly enough to gently soothe me somehow.
