The Son Of Man

Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see. There is an interest in that which is hidden and which the visible does not show us. This interest can take the form of a quite intense feeling, a sort of conflict, one might say, between the visible that is hidden and the visible that is present.
-
Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte about his 1964 painting "The Son of Man".

The Son of Man ring

Got this ring from Quirky-me. I redeemed this with my chic points on Chictopia. It arrived a few days back in this little black box, within 15 days of shipping confirmation. And it is made of metal not plastic as I had thought it would be which is even better.
It's cool isn't it?

  13. Love, love Magritte and his whole take on surrealism. I was reading a book about him recently, and was quite fascinated by how the juxtapositions exposed in his Surrealism are not as unconnected as one might think. If anything, he was actually revealing their unexpected relationships. Making visible the invisible, I suppose.
