I have wanted a (faux) leather biker jacket forever. I don't even own any proper jackets/blazers, I only have tons of cardigans. Recently my best friend got hold of this amazing leather jacket from Kazo and that got me into thinking that I cannot keep wearing just cardigans, I am not in school anymore. I need a good jacket/blazer for the winter and saying, "It never gets that cold here," is not going to cut it anymore.
But it is very important to get the right silhouette and fit.
Which one of these would you choose and why?
(all links lead to Rome...errr...Choies I mean)
I think the 4th one would be interesting since it is such a vampy, wintry garnet shade, the 5th one does feel like cheating what with the cape-y front but, I like the mixed media thing going on with it. As for the 1st three, I really like them all even though they are all of different styles.

I love number 1 and 2! I've been wanting to get a leather jacket for quite some time...

Debi, we are on the same page. I've been wanting a leather jacket for quite a long time.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to find one that is good quality and fits nice.
I dont like the ones that look too faux if you get my point.
From the ones above I like No. 2.

I would choose #3 for your first leather jacket. It's classic. You can dress it up or down. Wear it with pants, skirt or a dress. With colors (#4) or real bike chic (#1) you're limited. Quilted is IN for the moment (#2) and (#5) is dressy. That's just my opinion. All would look great on you, but I would just invest in classic piece for my first buy :)

can't go wrong with a biker jacket! my favourite's number 1 because it's a classic. i'm into classics, idk, they never get out of style.
ReplyDeletei wouldn't buy faux leather though, i'd rather buy a genuine leather jacket from a thriftshop. i just got an amazing one for just 20€! real leather lasts longer and still looks good when worn down, while faux leather most of the time starts looking cheap after like a year. that means you'll dispose it sooner which harms the environment. so, second hand leather is environment friendlier AND looks better/more valuable! :)

I actually agree with what you are saying. But the problem is I am not sure there are any thrift/vintage stores in Calcutta selling authentic leather jackets.
DeleteI'm not a leather person to begin with but if I have to choose,5 maybe because of the fall.
