All remnants of any sort of chilliness is gone from the wind. It is officially spring. But, you can feel the buzz of summer right beneath the windowsills. Soon the temperatures will start soaring sky high and we will all end up complaining mercilessly about the sun. All I can do right now, is dream of another city, of a certain warmth that spreads from within and tingles the toes. Why? Because every single day life changes forever, never to return to what it was yesterday. And I feel like I need to rush ahead with it. But, I am someone who is always a pace behind.

A Hint Of A Shimmer

This simple outfit needed a bit of shimmer. I got this jacket from Vero Moda a couple of years back. It was on sale and it was the very last piece. So, I grabbed it even though it was a size too big for me. Some days I hate how it makes my shoulders all droopy and hangs in such a bulky way. But, most days I am just glad for the tiny bit of sparkle that it adds to my most basic outfits.

Last year (in Nov/Dec) I was contacted by Vero Moda to style an outfit for them since they were celebrating their 25th year. And I had obliged. I am finally sharing the outfit photos here on my blog.

My very first sheer piece since I started blogging was a top from Vero Moda. It had the cheetah print on it that was not so overpowering. Since then I have acquired a few more sheer pieces from them (see all my VM pieces featured on my blog). Vero Moda is celebrating 25 years of being on this planet and asked me to blog about it. Let me say this now I am honored and happy to have been approached because as I said I have found some beautiful pieces from VM which fits me well and looks gorgeous. This is the one store where I know I will always find something beautiful every time I visit. And do I visit their store often!

How To Wear Sheer/Lace?

~Well I do not believe in giving fashion advice so all I have to say is play around with it guys. I have not yet encountered a single piece of lace/sheer (from VM especially) that I have not loved. I love how the material feels against my skin and how it looks on me. I am anything but a girly girl but there is something very luxuriously feminine about lace/sheer. Wear it with pants or skirts or as dresses or layer an oversized lace top with a dress underneath. How does a lace robe sound? Fantastic if I have to believe my own ears.

Indus Pride - Strangebrew Experience, Photo Diary

Indus Pride is India's first specialty beer brewed with Indian spices. On 25th April I went to Tantra at The Park to experience the unique concept of Strangebrew in association with Bangalore folk rock band "Lagori". The crowd consisted of cultural influencers and trendsetters of the city in the field of art, food and music. We got to taste the Citrusy Coriander brew paired with a free flow of delicious entrees. They have three other unique brews - Citrusy Cardamom, Spicy Fennel and Fiery Cinnamon. A stand up comedian also entertained us before the band took the stage, questioning young medical students in attendance about their alcohol habits. I thought if only they knew what other things medical students practice apart from, well medicine. Anyway without further ado here are a few photos of the event.

Stealing Pants

You all know how oxblood is the colour of this season? Yeah when I got my sister these oxblood pants from Vero Moda last year I didn't know that. So come this fall I have stolen it from her. Not that she misses it that much..I think! I was rushing out to get my delegate pass for the Kolkata International Film Festival, and god was it hot that day! I was sweating like someone threw a bucket of water at my face. But the colour is bloody good.

Touch My Cheeks And I Will Kill You

I woke up yesterday and opened the paper to see Eina Ahluwalia ,conceptual (and brilliant) jewellery artist wearing the top that I wore to the Four Seasons Wines event in July. I did a proper outfit post with it and was going to post it today anyway but this bit of news got me so happy. I got this from Vero Moda and I would have totally missed it since it was on the fresh stock rack and I was busy sifting through the sale section, if not for my best friend who picked it up for me.
Here's me all puffy and grumpy early in the morning. Note to self - don't do outfit shoots just after waking up!

Somethings New

Some new things I got this last month...I got this blue ombre t-shirt from Jabong because I am in dire need of casual stuff to wear to college and sweat through them the whole day and also because it has "Made in 90s" written on it so loud and clear...and it goes with my recent obsession with the colour blue in everything..I just need to get my hands on some blue hair colour and then I will say "the rest was history kids..". I know someday I will find those temporary colours and I will colour my hair blue, green, purple..

 I got all this on sale.. I really like the pocket detail in the striped tee. I remember I had gone crazy about having pockets in everything I wear at a point of time and got a pocket sewn into a short kurt I had, loved wering but hated that it didn't have pockets. Don't look at a picture of my face like that, I am not crazy.
 I absolutely love the Hamsa & Ankh necklace, got it for a whopping 70% off. I have been wanting to buy feather earrings for so long but I am at a loss at what to pair these with. As you can see no other colour beats my obsession for black and they just don't seem right with the stuff I have.. ..
 In other news I saw Alain Resnais' "Night and Fog" and I cannot describe in words what an impact it had on me. I went gaga over "Hiroshima Mon Amour" when I saw it. Resnais is definitely one of my most favourite film makers. You have to see and understand his language and the questions he raises to know what I am talking about.
